Multiple Teams · ISF Honors Anna Hinz and Grant Gould

Islander Sports Foundation is honored to announce their 2020 ISF Athletes of the Year. The award is given to a male and female senior athlete that best fits ISF’s motto of Integrity, Sportsmanship and Friendship.

This year’s winners are Anna Hinz and Grant Gould

Anna Hinz: Anna participated in waterpolo and swimming.  Both of coaches commented on her dedication to the team.  This past waterpolo season Anna was sidelined early on with a severe injury.  Despite knowing that her playing season was over Anna attended every practice and game, keeping stats and helping where she could.  The injury would have sidelined her for the swim season had COVID not done it for her but still in what part of the season did take place Anna was there timing at meets and cheering on her teammates. For the past two years Miss Hinz served as one of two student representative on the Islander Sports Foundation Board and has been very active at her church helping with the youth program.    Anna also shined in the classroom as her overall cumulative weighted GPA was a 4.15.  Next year Anna will go to Oregon State.

Grant Gould: Grant played baseball and Coach Cummins stated that Grant represents everything ISF stands for.  He puts his team before himself in all capacities (including playing time).  He is constantly a reliable source for players in ANY grade for help with skills or just getting a ride to practice.  He always hustles, and Coach goes on to state he has been one of the most coachable kids he has had the pleasure to deal with.  Grant also excelled in the classroom earning a 3.88 overall weighted GPA. Grant will be going to the Merchant Marine Academy.

Grant and Anna are true representative of the best of what High School sports is all about.  Thank you both for being such positive role models to all of us.

Proud to Call you Islanders!
