Boys Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Lacrosse · Kendall Chapko and Jake Hacker Honored

Seniors Kendall Chapko and Jake Hacker were chosen by the San Diego High School Sports Association as Coronado High School’s Scholar Athletes of the Year! This honor comes from an organization that supports all local high school sports.  Kendall and Jake were recognized for their great work in the classroom and on the field of play.

Kendall Chapko: Kendall was an All-League goalie for our women’s OPEN level lacrosse team where she made varsity all four years.  She earned a 4.41 cumulative weighted GPA in her four years at Coronado High.  Next year she will be going to Claremont McKenna College.

Jake Hacker: Jake only attended CHS for two years but made quite the impact.  A two year varsity athlete in both basketball (which came in 2nd in CIF Division III this year) and volleyball.  Throughout his high school career Jake earned a cumulative, weighted  GPA of 4.59. Jake is planning on going to UCSD in the fall.

Both Kendall and Jake are outstanding representatives of what a student athlete should be and why we are PROUD TO CALL THEM ISLANDERS!
