CMS Girls’ Volleyball offers a great introduction to this fast-paced, team sport. All registered players will be assigned to a team. Players complete a skills evaluation at the beginning of the season and are placed on a team accordingly. In past years, CMS girls’ volleyball has fielded between two and five teams to ensure all players have an opportunity to participate.

Equipment:  Players need to have athletic shoes, black volleyball shorts, and knee pads (available at most sporting goods stores and online.)

Uniform jerseys will be provided and must be returned at the end of the season.

Schedule: All teams practice two to three times a week with games scheduled once a week (mid-week) during the competitive season. Due to the limited availability of the CHS gym many practices are scheduled for late afternoon or evenings.  Schedules also vary each week and are communicated via email.

Games:  CMS Girls Volleyball plays against teams from around San Diego. We host several games at our home court, the CHS gym, and the team will also travel to face off-island opponents.  Parents are required to provide transportation to and from games.

Games are scheduled after school as well as on weekends and can start as early as 3:00pm necessitating an early dismissal from school. Any early dismissals will be authorized by the CMS Athletic Director and will be communicated to the CMS office and parents. Students are responsible for any schoolwork missed due to early dismissal.  All CMS students must be in good academic standing in order to participate in CMS sports.
