Coronado Middle School Soccer (Boys and Girls) offers a great introduction to this fast-paced, team sport. All registered players will be assigned to a team. Players complete a skills evaluation at the beginning of the season and are placed on a team accordingly. In past years, CMS Girls and Boys Soccer fields two teams. Assessments for teams will be done the week of November 14th. Teams will be assigned and regular practices will commence after the Thanksgiving Break.
Coach: Sue Wilkenson, Jose Quiro
Equipment: Players need to have cleats, shin guards, blue or black soccer shorts.
Uniform jerseys will be provided and must be returned at the end of the season. Any unreturned uniform will be subject to a $40 replacement cost fee.
Practice Locations: Cutler Field, Green Field, Neidermeyer Field
Games: CMS Soccer plays against teams from around San Diego. We host several games at our home fields, Cutler and Neidemeyer Fields, and the team will also travel to face off-island opponents. Parents are required to provide transportation to and from games.
Games are scheduled after school as well as on weekends and can start as early as 3:00pm necessitating an early dismissal from school. Any early dismissals will be authorized by the CMS Athletic Director and will be communicated to the CMS office and parents. Students are responsible for any schoolwork missed due to early dismissal. All CMS students must be in good academic standing in order to participate in CMS sports.
